So long 6435 Lawnton Street!

Before we left town, for what I believe may be our last visit to Philadelphia, we just had to stop and say "Good-bye" to the kids' home. Oh, what memories I have of their beautiful, comfortable home on Lawnton Street. I remember 4 years ago when they moved in, all the hard work that went into making this house their home - ripping up the carpets, restoring the original hardwood floors, painting and painting in that awful heat (and humidity), electrical, baseboards and even painting the little white picket gate! Each visit brought new surprizes with upgrades, the birth of our grandson, converting the basement into the cutest Preschool, yard work, tile work - never ending, but always improving. I loved that house, but perhaps what I loved more were the people who lived there - how loving, inviting and accepting they always were. How each and every time we would visit, we were made to feel like the most important people ever - gracious hosts with a good bye kiss and hug to "come back soon!" I'm going to miss 6435 Lawnton Street, but will look forward to their new home (CLOSER!), and more frequent visits. Thank you Brandon, Jamie, Berlynn and Ezra for sharing your lives (and love) with us!
