Arches Galore!

After Moab we headed for Arches - WOW is all I can say! How lucky are we to live in such a beautiful world? We had several little hikes planned while there, but....it was raining. Not just sprinkling, but a nice soaking rain (it doesn't look like it on the pictures, but it really was) so we decided we'll just have to go back. Now I do realize there are people out there, in the rain, but we weren't one of them. One good thing about the rain - it helped to bring out the BEAUTIFUL colors of the rock (like it does in Lake Powell). Hope you enjoy the pictures taken from inside the car!

Handcart Days

We headed out to the ol' Bountiful Handcart days last Thursday. The Marrelli's took us up on our invitation to go and even though I failed to get many pictures of them we really enjoyed their company, the girls had a good time, and the guy's made a tee time for early the next morning! Berlynn riding the pony.
Ez having his turn -
Who can resist hot-dogs on the lawn?
Oh - the fish pond (LOVE these)
Ez got a truck - Berlynn got a fancy necklace
Little Cate - content to watch and eat her fishes -
Smiling Sydney (and Ez on the swings)
Berlynn and Annie on the swings -
The Ferris Wheel (Berlynn told me they were rock-stars in their little cage)
Annie on the slide
Berlynn doing the bungie jump
The Olson's
The Bohn's (we missed Jamie, who was teaching her step class)
The kids helping Papa with his creamie -
Happy 24th of July everyone!

Seen around my house...

I made these yummy...loaded...can only really eat one - cookie dough topped brownies the other day. Who hasn't snuck a bit of cookie dough (except maybe my mom and Curt) while making cookies - and what could be better than warm brownies topped with cookie dough? No eggs in this dough, absoultely 100% safe to eat! I didn't say 100% good for you to eat, I just said it's safe to eat - as long as you enroll in one of Jamie's aerobic classes afterwards!

Saturday Night Live

The youth in our ward had a fund raiser to raise money for trek next year, they put on an auction where people donated goods and services and ward members bid on the items they wanted. Steven, Wendy, Curt and I decided to put on a dinner and evening full of fun at the cabin. Four couples wanted to participate and each donated hard earned money to be part of our dinner and Saturday night was the night we fulfilled our obligation. Here is Wendy putting together her famous "cabin cobbler" -
Here we are enjoying pulled pork, baked beans, apple slaw, potato salad, frog eye salad and corn on the cob. Looks like everyone is enjoying themselves - first indication of fun!
A group portrait on the big rock - who HASN'T had a fun picture taken here? From left to right, here are our friends the Gurr's, Pay's, Loveridges and Cox's. Still having the smiles -
We played the game "Things" around the fire pit and it really helped us to get to know "things" about each other (notice even more smiles) -
Ok, so it doesn't look like this side of the group is having as much fun as the other side, but we were. It was 10:00 - or so - before we packed up and headed for home. A grand night full of good food and fun - and we hope our friend's feel they got their money's worth - we sure did!
Thank's for the use of the cabin (again) Dad & Mom, it is such a great place to be together!

Free Advertising

So, as you know (or may not know), I work with Waterproofing West and we were afforded a little bit of free advertising this week as a result of the now famous "KISS" scuffle that took place on the Main Street Plaza between the gay couple and Church security. Regardless of your opinion of the whole episode, when Saturday's Tribune paper was released, Waterproofing West was subtly included in the details of the scandal as you can see in the picture below. What - you can't detect our involvement? Look closely between the poor abused gay couple (and his brusies)and you will notice one of our work trucks, staged perfectly between the two (hopefully, you will be able to enlarge this photo to get a better look), you can see it really good in the original picture. We have received SO MANY calls as a result of this stupid picture! It's all wacky!
