Today is my mother's birthday and I want to acknowledge just how much I love her and am so grateful to have her in my life. I didn't have a real recent picture of her to post, but I thought this one was an appropriate one to post because I know that her whole life has been dedicated to 1) Our Father in Heaven, 2) my father, and 3) her family (both posterity and ancestors).
I am so thankful for her wonderful example of faith, dedication and grace - even though she is facing some uncertain times ahead, I know she will continue to rely on our Father in Heaven for strenght and guidance. She is one of my true hero's . Curt's Grandmother used to tell him when he was dating to look at and observe the girls mother - for that would be a good indication of the type of person she would turn out to be. He is ALWAYS reminding me that, that what he saw in my mother is exactly what he wanted, so (after 30+ years of marriage) would I please start to embrace some of her qualities? Mom, I'm going to try.
Last night in the temple I saw one of our former Orchard 5th Ward members (Carol Peherson) and she came up to me and said as she was looking around and saw me she thought "Oh, there's Sister Moosman", but then thought - "wait a minute, she's too young to be Vauna", then recognized me for me. She said she never realized the resemblence until now - SO, maybe, just maybe, I will slowly start to not only aquire your looks mom, but your attributes as well. I LOVE YOU -
Little Nan

Marcia, loved your post, your mom reminds me so much of my mom. I love to hear her voice on the phone. They sound so much a like to me. We love your mom as much as you guys do. And yes we are turning into our mothers, or in my case, turning into my father. Everytime I do something, or say something, my kids say "grandpa would have said that" Tell your mom happy belated birthday. Jo
